Did you know that
South Western School District has launched a K-12 mentoring program?
This
year, South Western will be implementing a mentoring program that a dedicated
group of educators and community members have been developing for the past two
years. The purpose of the mentoring
program is to support struggling learners by facilitating positive, personal,
and relational development in preparation for lifelong personal growth. Our hope is that adult mentors can support
learners in the areas of; organization, time management, study skills, career
exploration, relationship building, and communication/social skills.
We
are currently looking for dedicated and passionate volunteers, with flexibility
in their personal schedules to be able to meet with learners during the school
day. Any adult who is interested in
making a difference and being a positive role model is encouraged to
volunteer. Training is provided to all
qualified mentors as well as continued support throughout the mentoring
process. For more information about the
